Dr. Rosenblatt has garnered national recognition for his dedication to treating varicose veins. He is one of the most experienced vein experts in New England and was the first doctor in Connecticut to perform the Endovenous Laser and Closure procedures. Varicose veins removal procedures were often painful and unsuccessful before Dr. Rosenblatt helped forge such medical innovation. Yet, he is now able to correct varicose veins and their causes by using highly specialized medical devices that collapse and close diseased veins with the help of advanced imaging tools like fluoroscopy (aka X-ray) and ultrasound technology. Dr. Mel Rosenblatt obtained his Medical Degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. He completed his residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and then completed his fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, which is part of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Rosenblatt is Board Certified in Radiology and Interventional Radiology. His clinical expertise lies in Endovascular Surgery and Interventional Radiology. He has held high level positions at the Yale-New Haven Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital and has taught at Yale University Medical School.
Dr. Rosenblatt is extremely active in the vein disease community. He has been a member of the American Medical Association since 2004, the American College of Phlebology since 2003, the Society of Interventional Radiology since 1990, and the Radiological Society of North America since 1986. Dr. Rosenblatt maintains active memberships with each of these societies, which includes his position on the Board of Directors of the American College of Phlebology. A prolific writer, Dr. Rosenblatt has also published numerous medical articles and book chapters and is regularly invited to speak about venous disease at lectures throughout the country.
