Overview

Dr. Michael D. Landau is a vein expert at Vein Care Medical Center, which has convenient locations in Los Angeles and Walnut, California. He has been a full-time Phlebologist since September of 2001. Dr. Landau diagnoses and treats superficial venous insufficiency in patients, which includes varicose veins, spider veins, and venous ulcerations. Dr. Landau utilizes specialized knowledge and state of the art procedures to treat his patients. In fact, he is one of the few doctors who uses Duplex Ultrasound, Endovenous Chemical Ablation (sclerotherapy), and Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) to diagnose and treat large varicose veins.

Dr. Landau truly cares about the needs and wellbeing of his patients and, as such, he personally performs all procedures, applies all necessary medical care devices, and carefully explains aftercare instructions. He also reviews each patient’s history, in detail, and performs focused venous examinations in order to determine the best treatment plan for each patient.

Dr. Landau has made improving the health of patients his passion throughout his professional career. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology from UCLA in 1981 and then earned his medical degree from Loyola-Stritch Medical School in Maywood, Illinois in 1985. Dr. Landau conducted his internship and residency training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in the Family Medicine department where he graduated as a family physician in 1988.

Dr. Landau’s primary care training led him to work at two urgent care centers, Medical Group of Torrance and Maple Medical Center, for nearly three years – 1988-1991. Feeling unfulfilled, he then found his calling in Phlebology and was trained and employed at Vein Clinics of America between September 1991 and December 1992.

Dr. Landau’s solo Phlebology practice started in January 1993 and has been a source of pride for him ever since. His main practice location has been in Los Angeles since January 1993. In October 2005, he also opened another office in Walnut to more conveniently offer services to a wider population. More recently, he has performed phlebologic services for local private offices as an independent contractor so more varicose vein sufferers can benefit from his expertise.

Dr. Landau is a firm believer in giving back to his local community. He has been an active member of Culver City Emergency Response Team (CERT) and an active ham radio operator for Culver City Amateur Radio Emergency Service (CCARES). In addition, he is a Volunteer In Patrol (VIP) with Culver City Police Department; and, president of the Culver City High School Alumni Association. He is also part of the volunteer wing of the L.A. County Public Health Department – Medical Reserve Corps of Los Angeles (MRC-LA). To indulge his love of the automobile and the history of L.A., he is also an active docent at the world class Petersen Automotive Museum on Museum Row in the Miracle Mile District.
