Are my vein treatments covered by insurance? Well, most of the time, yes. Now, most insurance companies recognize chronic venous insufficiency, also called venous reflux, as a medical condition that warrants treatments if the patient has symptoms. So, treatment for varicose veins, swollen legs, discomfort in the legs associated with venous insufficiency are usually covered. Sometimes spider veins treatment is covered and sometimes it is not. Most insurance companies will not cover spider vein treatment if it is purely for cosmetic reasons. If it is bleeding or itching or burning or dryness of the skin related to the spider veins, then some companies cover it.
