Video Overview

How can endovenous laser treatment (EVLT) help treat varicose veins? The EVLT uses a laser, which is a light energy, to close disease main superficial trunk veins. With the laser fiber, just a thin wire placed in the trunk of vein and local anesthetic is placed, the laser energy or heat is used to seal the veins closed. It takes less than forty five minutes to perform. It is done at our office. It has up to a 98 percent success rate with usual relief and symptoms, and returned, and normal activity immediately. Walking is encouraged. There may be bruising and mouth soreness post treatment, but this is usually relieved by compression stockings and over the counter paid medicines. This is often covered by medical insurance when medically necessary.
