Video Overview

How can you prevent varicose veins from forming? You really cannot prevent varicose veins from forming. There are four major risk factors which cause varicose veins, and the most common risk factor is heredity. The chances of you developing varicose veins of one parent, or if your parents have varicosities, is 40 percent. If both of your parents have varicosities, the chance is about 80 percent. From a genetic standpoint, you really cannot prevent varicose veins from forming. Once they do establish, though, you can proceed to therapy.
