Video Overview

Is Botox safe? The short answer is yes. Botox is safe. Botox was FDA approved in the year 2000. Since that time, over the last twelve years, injection of Botox is one of the most commonly performed aesthetic procedures. Botchullinum toxin, which is what is used for the injections, is used to temporarily paralyze some mucles and relax wrinkles. This is performed in an office setting with no down time whatsoever. The complication rates are extremely small from the injection of Botox - almost nonexistent. Any type of muscle drooping which is present is temporary, and there should be really no long time detrimental effects from Botox at all.
