Video Overview

Is laser vein ablation safe? There are a variety of minimally invasive techniques for treating abnormal veins. These include radiofrequency ablation, microphlebectomy, sclerotherapy, and yes, laser ablation. All of these procedures are very safe. The overall complication rate of serious complications is well less than 1% and the benefit of treating (so that patients' heaviness, achiness, pain, burning, itching and swelling are resolved) is well over 95%; so overall, the odds of a benefit to people far outweighs the risk of treatment with laser vein ablation.
