Is sclerotherapy the best treatment for varicose veins? The answer is no. There are a number of new treatment modalities. They are much more effective in treating large varicose veins including beta frequency ablation as well as micro surgical techniques. Sclerotherapy is best utilized for small veins less than three millimeters in size, reticular blue veins on the order of 1 millimeter, and of course, the small spider veins.
