Video Overview

How is the right varicose veins treatment chosen for a patient? Well, the initial step is always a history of physical to find out what is bothering the patient or what kind of problems their having. Usually from there, though, we do proceed to venous duplex evaluation and we can evaluate veins and see if they are flowing properly. If there is any evidence in what we call reflux or backwards flow, or even a narrowing or stenosis or a complete blockage of the vein can also cause significant symptoms. Once we have made the right diagnosis, then we can choose a treatment that is best for that patient.
