Video Overview

My name is Norman Bein. I'm a board certified general vascular surgeon. I have been in practice for over 35 years. I have specialized in the treatment of varicose veins and venous insufficiency for the past 10 years with 100% successful results. My offices are in Creve Coeur on Olive Boulevard and in Washington, Missouri on Highway 8. What causes spider veins of the face? Spider veins of the face come from several different ideologies. The causes can be wind damage, the causes can also be due to perhaps an over-indulgence in alcohol. Heredity plays a fair degree of impact. The type of skin you have also matters. If you have much lighter skin, you'll see these far more than you would if you had darker skin. That's because your translucent skin allows the underlying vessels to show through the skin. Essentially what we're looking at with spider veins of the face is an inflammatory condition. The inflammatory condition causes the changes that you see. The appropriate treatment for this is laser. At no time do I recommend injection of any facial veins. This is a surgical misadventure.
