What is deep vein thrombosis? A deep vein thrombosis of DVT for short is serious medical condition where there is a blockage of the venous flow of the deep venous system. The deep venous system is separate from the superficial venous system which is involved varicose veins. Deep vein thrombosis, again, is to be treated. It is a life threatening condition that might progress to a lethal outcome if left untreated.
