Video Overview

Why do I need an ultrasound examination? An ultrasound exam is important to evaluate the veins in the legs. There are many different veins in the legs, different sizes and shapes and locations; some are deep inside the muscles, some are in the skin and fatty tissue. Each of those veins are different. It is important to know if there is an obstruction in the veins; if so, where it is. It is also important to know whether the valves are working in the veins, where the valves are not working. And a map which we create of the veins shows exactly what we need to do and where we need to address problems.
